Such meetings are a marker for understanding that there are people living in society who see that something is wrong in the city/country and it needs to be changed. That is, we are talking about actions caused by democratic motives, which you read about in advance writing.
This weekend, we will gather once again—uniting with unions, churches and community groups for a mass mobilization against police brutality, marching from Liberty Plaza to Union Square on Saturday, and then pitching tents outside the United Nations to protest dirty energy and environmental degradation on Sunday. This spring, the city will be filled with carnivals of rage and joy. See you in the streets.
